Wychwood Barns Wedding in Toronto
Erez and David’s wedding at Artscape Wychwood Barns in Midtown Toronto was the kind of day that reminds me why I love documentary wedding photography. It was full of presence. The energy was palpable, and the way their community celebrated their commitment to one another was electric. Put simply, their wedding didn’t feel performative. This post is a love letter to the in-between moments that give depth to a wedding day.
Wychwood Barns is one of those rare Toronto venues that already feels like community. It’s an airy, industrial blank slate with pockets of greenery and warmth, which means you can transform it in a way that still feels grounded and real. And because it sits right in the heart of Midtown Toronto, it’s wildly accessible for guests. It’s a space built for gathering, and the year-round Saturday farmers’ market is proof of that. I have a soft spot for it because I live nearby and I’m there often. So on this day it felt like Wychwood Barns was doing what it’s always meant to do: gathering people together.
You may notice this gallery is a mix of digital and film. I’ve been weaving film back into my wedding work more intentionally, and I’m genuinely obsessed with what it adds: softer texture, a little unpredictability, and a different kind of depth. I love the way the two mediums play together, and how the film frames feel like tiny time capsules inside the larger story.
